Mondays / Thursdays 3.30-4.30pm

Athletes will learn safe and effective lifting techniques in the main lifts and will be taken through a series of accessory lifts. Once correct form and co-ordination has been establish appropriate load will be selected by the coach to build athletic development.

Research has demonstrated that supervised, technique-driven strength training programs can reduce the risk of sports-related injuries. In addition, strength training can provide the following health benefits:

  • Improved blood sugar levels

  • Increased bone density (especially in girls)

  • Enhanced muscle development, coordination and overall strength

  • Improved ability to move functionally in life
